Following the hugely successful launch of the first Ahead of the Game speaker event at St Paul’s School in London in February, Concussed Media is sorry to announce the temporary postponement of its next scheduled event at Clayesmore School on April 30.
The event, which was set to include appearances from leading figures from the world of sport and education including former England rugby coach Brian Ashton, will now be staged at a later date following the unexpected death of a close family member of the Concussed Media team.
All tickets purchased will be rolled over to the next event, with details expected to be announced in the summer, or returned in full.
Winner of the Pinsent Masons Sports Writing Award, and shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year, Concussed is the definitive account of sport's concussion crisis, how its 'dirty secret' was finally made public and what rugby union must now do to save itself.
Also shortlisted for Rugby Book of the Year at The British Sports Book Awards, a The Times and The Daily Telegraph “Book of the Year” and a Waterstones “Best Sports Book of 2023”, Concussed recounts the untold story of the most influential sports campaign in British newspaper history, which turned concussion in professional rugby from a niche issue into front and back page news.
Concussed poses the questions all sports lovers need answering as evidence grows linking sports-related concussions to premature deaths and dementia.
'Sam Peters has fought a truly magnificent campaign on concussion in rugby . . . sport will be safer because of it.'
