Journalist Sam Peters has been fearless and unstoppable in bringing to light the effects that head injuries have on sportspeople, in particular rugby players.

In his book #𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙, Peters recounts the untold story of the most influential sports campaign in history.

Sam talks about Concussed with Pip Tomson and Mark Longhurst on the Live Desk on GB News, touching on the constantly evolving laws of rugby, what can be done to limit players’ exposure to serious injury and how far rugby still has to go to make it safer for all that play.

Sam talks to LBC’s Nick Ferrari on LBC about the journey which lead him to write the book, the pushback he faced as he uncovered the truth about the concussion crisis facing rugby, and what needs to be done to address the issues the sport now faces. Nick doesn’t think much of England’s chances at the rugby world cup either!

In 2003, Steve Thompson played a vital role in England winning the Rugby World Cup. In the last minute of extra time, with the scores tied, Steve threw the ball in from a line-out that was passed to Jonny Wilkinson, whose drop goal dramatically won the match. It is one of the most memorable endings to a game in rugby history - but now retired and aged 42, Steve doesn’t remember it. Just like he doesn’t remember a huge amount of his professional career.
